The Impossible: Part II
Seriously, this thing has more parts than Hoover Dam. LIJ and I spent two hours last night working on it, and there are still about 5 million parts laying around on the ground. And I seem to be missing one. Except there are so many empty plastic bags and pieces of cardboard that I can't tell. That and the fact that everything looks the same.
So I'm going to try and get the rest of it together when I get home tonight. Moodypalooza (TM) is tomorrow night, and this place has to be clean.

The Impossible
My parents bought me a Crossbow last week. No, not as in archery, as in the weight machine like the Bowflex, but better.
I picked it up today. It comes in a big heavy box.
When you open the box you are greeting by five million tiny little parts, and somehow you are supposed to figure out how to put them all together. The instructions call for two wrenches, two screwdrivers, two people and some petroleum jelly. No, I don't know either.
I have no idea how to make these things turn into a home gym. This isn't Ikea furniture we're dealing with.
Speaking of, I'm going through an Ikea receipt trying to figure out what all of the codes are so I can put them in the right budget category for work. Trying to decipher Swedish codes is about as difficult as...well...as difficult as putting together a Crossbow.
So the health is going to have to wait for a few days.

The Weather
So it's vaguely nice outside. Shiny sun, clear sky, clean air. But let's face it: it's cold.
You know you think so too. You're wearing your jeans with your long sleeve fleece. And I can see multiple layers under there. You're chilly too. True, this is inappropriate weather for this time of year, but hey, we deal and move on. We live in the midwest...we should know.
Which means that there is no excuse for you to be wearing your flip flops. It's not summer yet. This isn't the beach. Go put on some shoes. And by shoes, I do not mean some socks paired with athletic sandals. It's cold outside. Real shoes. If you don't want to catch pneumonia, you'll listen to my advice.
Seriously, you look like a tool.

The Trip
Between two airports and two trips to Columbia, MO in four days, I have seen more inappropriate people to last me for the rest of the year.
Don't ask.

The Finale: #1
I don't think anything could have prepared me for the weepfest that was the last episode of Dawson's Creek. I was welling for the last hour. Luckily I bought a three pack of kleenex today.
Jen's tape to her daughter was hard enough...but when she died and Gram saw her...and said, "I'll see you soon..." I just lost it.
It's a bit sad that they kept saying how they defined a generation...but they did. I have such great memories of my sophomore year in college, going back to my dorm room with our lunch to watch the first season tape from the night before. And a bunch of us were talking about it today. Everyone said, "Oh, no teenagers talk like that..."
Ha. We did. Maybe minus a few superlatives, but Dawson's was pretty much the first show that had people my age talking like grown ups, instead of talking like little kids.
Maybe there is no happy medium. Kids grow up awfully fast these days.
It's easy for me to be melodramatic after just finishing the episode (Heh...at first I spelled that "mellowdramatic"...), but I don't care. I'll say it again. Dawson's Creek had a big impact on my life, and it doesn't matter to me who knows it. I will miss them. And I'm actually thinking about buying a DVD player, just so I can go and buy the first season.
Make fun if you want. But remember that one of us gets to sleep until 10:30 every day.
(And be prepared for next week's slightly less emotional post-Buffy post.)

The TV
How I can be so entertained by daytime reality shows is beyond me. And I think it's unfair that they have so many good shows on back to back, which force me to sit on the couch for hours, instead of going to work.
Seriously, if I'm still in bed at 10:30 (shut up...sometimes I work late...), I force myself to get up to watch House Invaders on BBC. Then there's A Makeover Story, A Dating Story, Surprise by Design, Changing Rooms, Trading Spaces, While You Were Out...
I don't have to invest anything emotionally in any of them, like, say, Dawson's Creek (which ends tonight...sigh...), so I can safely flip channels while they're on. But oh sweet lord, some of those British creations are so awful that you can't help but watch. And who doesn't love a English accent?
And most of them are only a half hour long. If it's boring, I just flip until another show is on.
Which means that I get nothing done in the morning, and have to scramble to finish things in the afternoon. Oh well. It'll be OK once the prime time season is over...I can work till midnight and not have anything to distract me.
Shut up. You'd watch them too, if you could.

The Letter: Part III
So getting in only seemed to cause more stress. Because I haven't heard anything about financial aid, and yet, I have to send them $225 to reserve my place, not knowing whether I will even be able to pay the tuition.
And then there was the whole deal of "Is this really the right thing to do?" I'd resigned myself to not getting in, so I was working pretty hard on the company and my regular job, settling down for a year of hard work.
So now I have to revamp those plans to make room for classes. Classes about which I know nothing, not even the times that they meet. Technically, I don't know if all of this is even possible, but I guess I'm going to try.
I know, in the long run, that it's the right thing to do. But is it going to kill me in the process?

The Letter
Did I mention that I still haven't heard about grad school yet? I don't have a particularly good feeling about it, but I'd just like to be sure, you know? Maybe I want to make plans for the fall.
Grrr.

Not having insurance: Pricele...
Aw hell, I can't finish it. There's nothing priceless about not having insurance. Pricey is more like it. Seriously...room and board for one night is almost two months rent. And for those of you who enjoy math, that's a grand total of $20,565.71 (the bill, not my rent).
I should set up a paypal link or something, but that's just tacky.
